I hope everyone can talk 5 minutes from their Disney Plus watching to give this a look over.
Some quick house keeping AC is going to be January 25th the week after Dan's wedding and week before the superbowl. I am thinking about building a trophy stand with a cool led light display but I currently lack the time since GEICO does not let me do wood working in the office. So we'll see if I get around to that. That's enough of the stuff no one cares about on to the recaps:
Dan must have taken a break from golfing with his Dad, and not helping with the center pieces and invitations because this week his lineup put up a fighting chance. Projected to win up until the 3rd quarter of the Monday night game he fell just short to Rich. 87-89. Rich with the victory has a chance to clinch the division with a win and can move into the 2 seed with wins in the last two weeks. Dan's chance at the playoffs ended this week with the lost officially, realistically they ended around week 5.
Alex kept his playoff hopes alive with an 80-73 victory of Ryan. Ryan had a slim chance to make the playoffs coming into this week but his team get nothing from the RB position as he played a RB who was out for the week. Bright side his benched RB only scored 2 points. So he never really had a chance. Alex also took 0s from two positions but he keeps his playoff hopes open as he is tied for the last playoff spot but on the outside due to tiebreakers. If he pulls off two wins it is likely he makes the playoffs.
The two teams he is tied with faced off last week and it was Brendan knocking Chris down. Chris only managed 64 points with the packers offense even though Bell had one of his best fantasy points of the season. Brendan with the win moved into the last wild card spot by the strength of a tiebreaker but he has the hardest remaining schedule left taking on the Brennan brothers the last two weeks of the season.
Connor and Steve clinched their divisions this week and Connor is in the drivers seat for the number 1 seed with the victory. Connor already did his talking about the win so I am not going to add more about Doug and Alex should be embarrassed by letting Connor win again.
Matt took a commanding lead in his division with the win over the still winless Doug. Will this be the first winless season for a player in our league quite possible. And before any says hey Matt not a real owner, it's really the coin, well Matt has paid league dues every year on time, now stop and think how many of you have paid dues every year on time. Yeah, that makes him as much an owner as everyone else.
The last match up was between the two highest teams of the week. Roger brought his A game but it was not enough to knock me off as I beat him 129-121. Somehow I am the number 1 scoring team in the league but also have the 3rd most points scored against me. Doesn't matter that my fantasy defense is not doing anything because with two wins I clinch the division title and have a shot at a bye week in the playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs here are the possibilities as I see them:
Connor clinched a playoff birth, gets a bye with a win
Steve: Clinched a playoff birth needs 2 wins to clinch a bye
Rich clinches a playoff birth with a win in the next two weeks or 1 loss by two of Alex, Chris and Brendan
Matt clinches a division with a win and a loss by Chris; playoff spot with a win and 1 lose by Alex
Frank Clinches division with 2 wins, clinches a playoff spot with a win and 1 loss by two of Alex, Chris and Brendan
Brendan clinches playoff spot with 2 wins, all other would involve tie breakers
Alex to complicated to Explain
Chris can either win the division with two wins and 2 loses by Matt, or 1 loss by Matt and get the tiebreaker or wild card which is complicated
In honor of my upcoming trip to see Ryan here are my 5 likely destinations to see a football game next year:
5. Pittsburgh- makes the list because we could probably make it a decent trip out there with Alex living there and almost everyone being 6 hours away
4. Boston- slowly becoming friends in or grow up in the Boston area, plus Brendan is there
3. Chicago- Always wanted to go, obviously this would have to be an early game in the season
2. Charlotte- the air port sucks but it would keep with going to great BBQ states
1. Dallas- think Isabel would hook me up with tickets? also great BBQ places.
Let me know what you think about my choices and maybe read my other blog with it weekly piece on adding rules to turn board games into drinking games. Soon there will be a page for the games section but the one posted today was a group favorite: Ticket to ride!
