Week 7 what is football anyway

So apparently there were football games this week. Why because somehow the Phillies turned into a team of destiny and have somehow aligned their schedule to not play at same time as the Eagles. So while the football games where happening this happened.

Around the same time that happened Josh Jacobs apparently scored 3 TDs and took Ryan from probably going to score in the mid 90s and lose to being way over 100s points and leading the league in points. Bad luck for me but the Harper home run was well worth it.

In a matchup that had about the same odds of the Phillies vs Astros. Chris beat Connor by a point. Yes, Chris who traded his whole team to Connor beat Connor 2 weeks after the trade.

Yep that was Connor's team.

Speaking of Errors, Alex had 41 points from his QB and lost because he played 2 guys who were out this week. Basically forced to play Boyd and any free agent kicker he would have won. The only way he could have lost this week was to not check his lineup at all. Should Alex be punished for this? Is Roger the fantasy football team of destiny? Is this how we should treat Alex now?

 Comment below.

Brendan is giving Roger a run for the team of destiny as again his team has a bad week but his opponent was worse. Dan predictably without Josh Allen fell apart but only scoring 60 points is tough.

Steve the luckiest person to ever play fantasy football beat Rich. Steve got 19 points from the Dallas D, and 28 from Malhoes and that was all he needed. Somehow once again Steve is tied for 1st in his division. What ever he touches seems to turn into gold. Just like everything this guy hits leaves the park. Seriously all his hits are homeruns.

Doug beat Matt 97-90. I was driving back from the sixers game last night with Matt and he said several wise things. First about how we saw 3 cars accidents, If they don't hit us are we really the bad luck. 2nd if fantasy football is basically a random number generator how come some of your friends are almost always bad at it. I think he was thinking of Alex and Roger. I just said because they are idiots, which Alex you were this week.

Now for your enjoyment.

Good luck everyone this week and go Phillies

Week 6 fall arrives

Week 6 was so great I almost don’t want to talk about it. In fact I don’t think I am going to do much talking about the week, except the Eagles go into the bye undefeated, Dallas sucks, and the Bills showed dominance over the Chiefs. Will MAlhomes be able to claim postseason vengeance again? Aarron Rogers keeps checking out of plays to give Aarron Jones the ball because he thinks his WR are still good or is so egotistical that he believes a RB leading the team win makes him look weak. Also the 76ers and the nba starts so to kick of the theme of the rest of the video enjoy the best song in sports.

I hope you enjoyed that. And here is out next song

Ryan picked up the W and moved into a tie for 1st in his division. No one wants to run away with and teams seem content to just stay around .500 hoping the other two fail. To bad for Dan a win this week could have really given him a leg up.

Unlike the namesake of his team Doug is actually winning. Yes Drew may have been cheated but it is no more offensive than the trade Connor made to try and steal the division. You overcame so Drew can too.

Roger took the win in the rematch of the top teams so far. He has the magic touch so far. Every risky pick turned to gold this year for him.

Alex picked up the win against the other bottom feeder as he was closing up shop. Not everything is free at the restaurant and he is still serving up a limited number of Ls.

Brendan is holding on the razer edge and with major luck may have won the lowest scoring game of all time, and is tied for the last playoff spot.

Frank won and I had the misery of watching the packers offense do nothing and never once get there best player involved. I am done with the Packers. The Jets D is not that good.

Good luck to everyone next week.

Oh here is a bonus song for Chris

Week 5 and a break from recaps

Originally I had a fun idea for this weeks recap but on Monday I went to funeral for a coworker and friend of mine. She passed away at 56 years old and she was one of the nicest people in the office and just in life in general. It was a sad day, lots of tears where flowing as some of her best friends did reflections on her life. Now the you guys part, after funerals it has you thinking about your life and why you do some things so today I was thinking what is it that I like about fantasy football. The first thing I realized is it is not winning. The last time I won the championship 3 seasons ago I felt like there was no reason to try anymore. So winning is not important and it is simple the only thing that matters is the people you play with. I am down to 3 leagues, all of which have down in person drafts in the past. 1 did it fully online because of covid, but really because people moved out of the philly area and that is the league I care about the least. Through it is by far the most expensive and has bells and whistles to make it fun. I like 2 things about fantasy football these days draft day and the banter week to week mainly that Alex says. I love that it gives me a reason to randomly pick up the phone and try to make a trade work but make contact contact. I love that it gives me and my brother something to talk about when we go out to dinner especially when the Phillies where losing and the Sixers have nothing going on. Who gets Nick Chubb is major conversation since depending who you ask Chubb is either the most talented or 2nd most talented back in football. I love that it gives us a reason to get together ever year even if Dan and Steve never come.

Week 4 and down to 1

Week 4 is in the books and now 1 team is left undefeated. That team is the Philadelphia Eagles, oh and Matt too, but that is unimportant. Eagles are flying high and it was good week for Philly sports. Ben Simmons showed he can’t make free throws, the Phillies clinched a playoff spot. No Wawa were trashed this week. It was a great success.

Now to the stuff you might care about. Since Connor only reads his stuff that’s going last.

In the high flying match up of Dan and Rich, Dan was able to pull out the win with 22 points from the 49ers D. A performance that cost me $10 in another league that gives $10 for the highest scoring team each week, so that was very disappointing. Rich switch from the old Tom Brady and Goff had a great game but it was not enough, partially because Brady kept finding Mike Evans. Tough loss for Rich as he drops to 1-3 on the year.
